The regulated market

Alberta's regulated online gaming market launched on July 13, 2026, and two bodies share the work. The Alberta iGaming Corporation, known as AiGC, manages the market, and AGLC regulates it. To operate legally, an online operator must register with AGLC and sign an operating agreement with AiGC. At launch, 22 registered iGaming sites were approved.

Play Alberta, at PlayAlberta.ca, is the province's own online gaming site. It is run by AGLC, and its revenue goes to the Government of Alberta.

Any operator can be looked up in AiGC's directory of registered iGaming sites at abigaming.ca/players/registered-igaming-sites. If an operator does not appear in that directory, it is not regulated. Approved operators display the AiGC logo. Registered operators must make sure that only players physically located in Alberta can play. The legal gambling age in Alberta is 18.
